Elijah Burgher: Artist's Talk
In his lecture, Elijah Burgher will discuss recent work. This includes a solo presentation at Ivan Gallery in Romania last year and an upcoming show at the Des Moines Art Center in Iowa. He was featured in the Whitney Biennial 2014, the Gwangju Biennial 2014 (as part of AA Bronson’s “House of Shame”), The Temptation of AA Bronson at the Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, Rotterdam and For Opacity at the Drawing Center, New York City. His work has been reviewed in The New York Times, Art in America, ArtReview, Artforum and included in VITAMIN D2, the hardcover survey of contemporary drawing.
Elijah Burgher has been a resident at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and the Fire Island Artist Residency. Previous education include a MFA from the School of the Art Institute, Chicago and a BA from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY. He lives and works in Berlin.
