Santiago Mostyn’s practice foregrounds narrative entanglements in pursuit of new understandings of place, both in a cultural and psychic sense. Santiago has long been interested in the interplay of music, narrative, and the embodied self, with works manifesting as films, exhibitions, and curatorial projects. Dream One comes at a pivotal moment, and draws on many years of artistic exploration into ‘unhomed geographies’ across the Black Atlantic.
Samuel Girma is a Stockholm based film and art curator, as well as a community organiser, activist and co-founder of the antiracist, intersectional, and feminist platform Black Queers Sweden. Born and raised in Ethiopia, Samuel moved to Sweden at the age of 13, a move that has affected much of his view on Blackness and the experiences that comes with migration. Much of Samuel’s work, art and writings departs from and centers the experiences of Black bodies.
Eek-A-Mouse is a Jamaican reggae musician. His unmistakable style that mixed singing and deejaying, made Eek-A-Mouse one of the first artists to be described as a “singjay”. He caused a sensation in the dancehall scene with his humorous and original style, and was one of the most unique reggae talents to emerge in the 1980s.
The talk will be held in English.
