Đồ chơi lắp ráp

Dmitry Teselkin

OPENING MAY 8TH • 6:00PM

May 8 – May 17, 2025

Ôliuu
56 Phạm Viết Chánh, Phường 19, Bình Thạnh, Hồ Chí Minh, Viêt Nam, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 700000

Dmitry Teselkin is a multidisciplinary artist and DJ working at the intersection of visual art and electronic music. Of mixed Ukrainian-Russian heritage, he eventually settled in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. His work explores the structure and psychology of play, drawing on minimalist aesthetics, modular construction, and club culture

A formative year spent in Ho Chi Minh City a decade ago continues to shape his artistic outlook. In April 2025, he returns to the city with a project that combines a series of exhibitions and DJ sets across local venues — all presented under a single title: “Đồ chơi lắp ráp” (“Construction Toy”).

The first exhibition opens on May 8 at Ôliuu — a new creative space above a restaurant in the heart of Saigon. Among the classic Teselkin's objects the show presents a new series of small format works made from the negative laser cutouts of modular elements used in his sculptural practice as well as drawings and photograms. Playful yet precise, these pieces sit somewhere between geometric abstraction and the aesthetics of collectible toys. With this project, Teselkin continues his site-specific approach — creating work that resonates with everyday materials, spaces, and people.

The second exhibition takes place on May 17 at Luu, an electronic music club located just a two-minute walk from Ôliuu.
