“Sex is not an action but a mood, a filter over the landscape. Sex is a trap, a labyrinth, a matrix that engulfs you. An intense focus and then sensual amnesia.”

Don Quixote: Aisling Hayes and Lena Appel recite text and sing. anu koetter and Joana Ferraz demonstrate a transformation. Carla Loose masks its bodies. Maria Moritz paints an utopia. Nikki Buzzi play psychoacoustic phenomena. Leonie Emeka curates. The Don Quixotes taken up in GIANTS by the authors Miguel de Cervantes, Kathy Acker and Monique Wittig, fight against windmills: Imperialism, patriarchy or a mad reality. Simultaneously, they are subject to the lunacy of social norms, the impenetrability of fantasy, fiction and fact. In this iteration, Don Quixote and Panza are romantically involved, though their journey demands leaving much behind. GIANTS unfolds as a shadow play, exploring the interplay of inner and outer realms, symbolisms, the human psyche, and ephemerality. Ultimately, Panza may be just a figment of imagination, but one that enables Don Quixote to carry a fragment of fantasy into the realm of reality.
