As part of the interdisciplinary project “The Frankfurt Prototype”, a discussion between Niklas Maak, initiator of the project, Daniel Birnbaum, professor at the Städelschule, and Marie-Theres Deutsch, architect of the first Portikus, will take place on Sunday, 20 October 2024, at 16:00. The discussion will revolve around the spaces for exhibiting art in the city. At 12:00 Niklas Maak will also offer a guided tour of the Prototype.
The Frankfurt Prototype is an experimental building with a small public market hall on the ground floor, living and working spaces for students on the first floor and a green ‘urban filter’. From 2 October 2024 onward, the building will be located for three months in the courtyard of the Senckenberg Forschungsinstitut und Naturmuseum Frankfurt and will be open to the public. It was designed by students from the Städelschule and the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (UAS) together with engineers and architects as well as researchers from the Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung.
The talk will take place outside at the Frankfurt Prototype in the courtyard of the Senckenberg Museum (Senckenberganlage 25, 60325 Frankfurt am Main). Please don’t forget to bring warm clothing. Registration is not necessary.
