Launch of Jochen Lempert: Paare / Pairs with a poetry reading by Marion Poschmann
Since the 1990s, Jochen Lempert has used the book itself as a classic medium for conveying knowledge, narration, and visual experiments. On the occasion of his exhibition at Portikus, the publication Jochen Lempert: Paare / Pairs is published in close collaboration with the artist and Roma Publications in Amsterdam. Combining new and older photographs, Lempert composed a sequence showing different ways to look at pairs.
On the occasion of Jochen Lempert's exhibition at Portikus, Marion Poschmann reads from her latest poetry collection Nimbus (2020) in the presence of the artist. Poschmann's poems speak of the irreversible destructive intervention of man in nature and at the same time of the magic of individual natural phenomena that has not yet disappeared.
Marion Poschmann (*1969) lives in Berlin. She has won numerous prestigious prizes for her poetry and prose, most recently the 2018 Klopstock Prize for her novel Die Kieferninseln (2017), which was also shortlisted for the German Book Prize and the 2019 Man Booker International Prize.
