“We are thrilled to present the upcoming art exhibition, "cā biān", featuring 19 promising young Chinese artists who have been working in Germany. This exhibition explores a realm of intercultural communication, showcasing the diverse perspectives of artists actively contributing to Germany’s artistic landscape,”

The theme of the exhibition "cā biān" is inspired by a popular meme in China. Drawing from the nuanced meaning of the term, which ranges from "playing edge balls" in table tennis to broader concepts such as "touching the edge," "gray area," "being provocative," or "pushing/testing limitations.“ "cā biān" represents a courageous effort of the artists in confronting their identities as well as their perception of the art world. It places "challenging boundaries" at its core, addressing the urgency of understanding cultural differences in today's globalized world. Against this background the concept of exhibition serves as a bridge between East and West, fostering dialogue on contemporary issues.
