Application for Exchange Studies
Application Deadline: March 15th – April 15th of the same year
Requirements
There must be a valid agreement or contract between Städelschule and the partner university. A prior nomination by the partner university is necessary, with a deadline from March 1 to March 31. A university entrance qualification is not required. Likewise, proof of language proficiency in German or English is not necessary. However, it is assumed that applicants have sufficient language skills in English and German.
Artistic talent is demonstrated through a portfolio of self-produced works.
Documents Required for Application
- Curriculum vitae (CV) as PDF (maximum size 5 MB)
- Passport photo as JPG, JPEG, or PNG (maximum size 1 MB)
- Portfolio showcasing a selection of your own artistic works as PDF (maximum size 20 MB)
Please do not refer the portfolio to password-protected links or services that delete data after a few days (such as WeTransfer Free). Links must be accessible until the results are announced. You can submit your application here from March 15th to April 15th. Personal submission of applications including portfolios, as well as sending them by mail or email, is not possible.
Results of the application process for the winter semester will be communicated by mid-May.

Fees
The current fee to be paid is 314,40 Euro per semester, which includes the Germany Ticket. Admission is generally granted for one semester. Further information about ERASMUS+ and partner universities can be found here.
