CRAWL WEEKS

Hidemi Nishida, Yuki Nagasaka, Kento Terada, Mami Hirano

Sat May 24, 2025
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM JST

1-9-2 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Gran Tokyo South Tower 1F Japan

For this talk event, we will invite four artists who work at art universities, Hidemi Nishida (Associate Professor, Faculty of Art, Joshibi University of Art and Design), Yuki Nagasaka (Lecturer, Faculty of Art, Hiroshima City University), Kento Terada (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Art, Tokyo University of the Arts), and Mami Hirano (Special Lecturer, Faculty of Art and Design, Nagoya Zokei University), who are from different regions and backgrounds but are of a similar age.

Art universities are indispensable organizations for producing artists and art workers. Many of the faculty members who work there are artists themselves and practice creating works every day. Education, production, research, and their own lives. How do these artists, who seem to wear many different hats, view art universities, which are also their workplaces?

In an age where artistic activities are becoming more diverse, we hope that this will be an opportunity to think about the potential of universities as a stage for artists, as well as their educational and social effects, and to consider the positive future of art universities together with students and young teachers who aspire to work in art and art education, and artists.
