(das) Wasser in mir

Book release and reading by Tamara Goehringer

Thursday, 7 September 2023, 7pm
Performative reading: 8pm

Schweizer 5
Schweizer Straße 5
60594 Frankfurt am Main

Writing and speaking texts are significant artistic practices of Tamara Goehringer. Through interweaving words, terms, and phrases, the artist explores their meanings to create a new texture. Themes around philosophical theories, (pop-) cultural moments, and psychological narratives are questioned through a feminist perspective. Last year, Goehringer began working on her first artist's book in which experiences with oneself, her surrounding environment, and the themes mentioned above found expression in the form of poems. The artist book is published as an edition of 31.

At the event the Frankfurt based artist will present her book (DAS) WASSER IN MIR for the first time. Part of this presentation will be a lecture performance set against the backdrop of the poems. The motif of water, which is mentioned in the title of the book and runs through the poems linguistically, will be explored in a multimedia way. Before and after the reading, Schweizer5 will offer more space for questions and conversation. Water as well as other beverages will be served at the bar during the evening (on a donation basis).

The event is free of admission.
