Present event with livestream
Lecture by Juliane Herz, curator and founder of EUPHORIA Gesellschaft für Kunst im urbanen Raum.
On the panel afterwards, artist Tobias Rehberger, professor at Städelschule, architect Michael Schumacher, partner in the Frankfurt office schneider+schumacher, and Frankfurt's head of culture Dr. Ina Hartwig will discuss art as an integral part of urban development for our future cities.
The evening will be moderated by Dr. Matthias Alexander, F.A.Z.
Art in the city can help to charge a place with meaning and give it an identity that architecture on its own is unable to establish. Striking works of art can become a meeting place, a crystallization point of urban life. This potential for new development areas, but also for existing neighborhoods, is still underestimated by many urban planners, local politicians and real estate companies. Raising it is especially important at a time when citizens are spending more and more time outdoors. And it is always important to respect the value and idiosyncrasy of art, its potential to challenge certainties.
The discussion will also be available as livestream on the KKF YouTube channel on the evening of the event:
