Hassan Khan is an artist, musician and writer. Recent solo exhibitions include the Palacio de Cristal / Museum Reina Sofia, Madrid (2019-2020); Kestnergesellschaft, Hannover (2019); Beirut Art Center (2016). In 2017, his work was exhibited at the 57th Venice Biennale and was awarded the Silver Lion in the International Exhibition Viva Arte Viva, for his installation Composition for a Public Park. As a musician he regularly performs his own music live recent appearances include Performative (01), Maxxi L'Aquila (2021); Ruhrtriennale, Essen (2018), Intonal Festival Malmö (2017), and Guggenheim Museum, New York (2016). Khan’s most recent publication, An Anthology of Published and Unpublished Writings, is co-published by Stäedelschule and Koenig Books, his album, SUPERSTRUCTURE EP, was released by The Vinyl Factory in 2019 and his novella Twelve Clueswas published by Mousse in 2016. In February 2022, a survey exhibition will be hosted by the Musée National d'Art Moderne, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris. Khan is currently a Professor of Fine Arts at the Staedelschule, Frankfurt and divides his time between Cairo and Berlin.
