Felix Nussbaum and artistic resistance today

The exhibition #nichtmuedewerden opens on September 10, 2023. The Museumsquartier Osnabrück will show Nussbaum’s work in conjunction with international contemporary artists. These include famous names such as Francis Alÿs, Andreas Angelidakis, Yael Bartana, Candice Breitz, Mona Hatoum, Oscar Muñoz, Dan Perjovschi, Ariel Reichman, Nasan Tur, Ai Weiwei und Carrie Mae Weems. In their works, they deal with themes such as flight and displacement, racism, oppression, violence or dehumanization. Director Kässens sees the exhibition as a strong signal for peace in the jubilee year of the Peace of Westphalia: “It shows how art helps to visualize grievances, it encourages reflection on one's own behavior and it promotes empathy.”
