We invite you to meet Girls * to the Front, Łaja Szklana and Ada Rączka. This is the first event in the TALKING series - meetings with people and collectives dealing with grassroots publishing and activism. This year we will invite people from various places in Poland who will be able to share their knowledge and experiences with us. Our activity will help spread the knowledge about minorities at risk of exclusion. We want people to speak for themselves, so we will invite various initiatives with different experiences to help us and our allies better understand the problems of a given group.
Coordination and curatorial work: Małgorzata Mycek
Visual identification: Nina Budzyńska
Our first meeting will concern two publications: "ACABADŁO fell from the stove" and "ATTEMPT TO CLEAR OUT OF THE ABDOMEN / ATTEMPT TO ENTRY INTO THE ABDOMEN". Both zines were released by the informal initiative Girls * to the Front.
"ATTEMPT TO CLEAR OUT OF THE BELLY / ATTEMPT TO ENTRY INTO THE BELLY" by Ada Rączka is a non-binary coming-out in the form of a poem, visually co-prepared with Zofka Kofta. At first glance, it may look like a linguistic experiment, but after a while it draws in, moves and delights. The unique rhythm and (apparent) repetitions make the “Trying to get out of the belly | An attempt to enter the belly ”reads as if in a trance. Gertrude Stein would be proud!
Editing and proofreading: Maria Halber
Editorial and visual supervision: Aleksandra Kamińska, Agata Barbara Wnuk, Alin Szewczyk, Łaja Glass, Magdalena Rzepecka
Consultation: Sylwia Chutnik
Graphic design and typesetting: Zofka Kofta

Ada Rączka: Graduate of Fine Arts in Judith Hopf's class at Städelschule (Frankfurt am Main). Author of the book of poetry “Let's not do anything, I am begging you. But let's tell others we did ”(2019). Works with images, text and videos.
Zofka Kofta: Graphic designer. Co-founder of the FLAUTA collective and the community Radio Kapitał, where she is responsible for visual identification.
Girls * to the Front: A feminist-queer initiative of Agata Wnuk and Aleksandra Kamińska, operating in Warsaw since 2015. The main goal of Girls * to the Front is to build a community of girls, women, non-binary, trans and queer people - accessible, inspiring and supportive, where every voice matters.
