On the occasion of Ulli Crespo's donation to the MUSEUMᴹᴹᴷ FÜR MODERNE KUNST, the Crespo Foundation is presenting the works making up the bequest as well as the photography exhibition “ULLI CRESPO: GREENLAND ICE COLD”.
With her generous gift, Ulli Crespo has enriched the MMK with a substantial number of works from her extensive contemporary art holdings. Her collection testifies to her personal and independent outlook as well as her keen sense of the specific qualities distinguishing the respective oeuvre. The fact that, through this bequest, the works now hold a prominent place in the MMK collection will remain Ulli Crespo's special legacy.
The donation comprises paintings, drawings, photographs, and sculptures by Ilija Bosilj Bašičević, Thomas Bayrle, Joseph Beuys, Miriam Cahn, Walter Dahn, Peter Dreher, Ellsworth Kelly, Teresa Margolles, Meuser, A.R. Penck, Tobias Rehberger, Jeff Wall, Andy Warhol, and Franz West.
Photographs by Ulli Crespo will also be on view. Taken on travels in Greenland in the summer of 2015, they document the arctic landscape along the east coast from Maniitsog to Kangaamiut, Sisimut, and Ilulissat, as well as the so-called Russell Glacier in the vicinity of Kangerlussuaq in central western Greenland.
This presentation of Ulli Crespo's bequest and photographs from her Greenland series has been organized by the Crespo Foundation. Admission is free of charge; visitors are requested to register at the MUSEUMᴹᴹᴷ cashier's counter.
