Session 1, March 6th 2021: Yasmil Raymond
Rector of the Städelschule, Frankfurt am Main, where she is also Director of Portikus. Raymond worked until 2019 as Associate Curator at MoMA, New York, where she organized major commissions with the artists Kerstin Brätsch, Goshka Macuga, and Yoko Ono, among others. Prior to MoMA, she was Curator at Dia Art Foundation, New York, where she oversaw major exhibitions and specific projects, including: Allora & Calzadilla: Puerto Rican Light (Cueva Vientos), Thomas Hirschhorn: Gramsci Monument, and Jean-Luc Moulène: Opus + One. She received a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and an MA from Bard College, Center for Curatorial Studies.
Format: 8 online sessions, 4h each.
Dates: 26 February; 6, 13 March; 17, 24 April; 15, 22, 29 May, 2021
Six of the sessions will include presentations by special guests from the international sphere and will be centred on feminist and decolonial curatorial perspectives.
This program will also include a practicum and two individual tutoring sessions. An equivalent work time is expected from each participant.
