Rundgang

Every year, at the end of the winter semesters, the Städelschule opens its doors to the public and offers an extensive program of open studios, lectures, performances, and film screenings. Admission is free.

During the annual student exhibition, visitors have the opportunity, over 3 days, to get an insight into the artistic work of students from all classes. The students show their current works at the two locations, Dürerstraße 10 and Daimlerstraße 32. In addition, the film class in cooperation with the DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum organizes film screenings and students of the Curatorial Studies - Theory - History - Criticism program, a cooperative study program with the Goethe University, organizes the Water Cooler Talks—a platform for exchanging ideas about current developments in the art world with invited artists, curators, theorists, and activists. Current publications and editions of the Städelschule and Portikus are available for purchase in the library, and public tours of the current exhibition take place at Portikus.

The ‘Rundgang’ Prizes

Every year Städelschule Portikus e.V., with the support of its longstanding partners, awards more than ten art prizes to students at the Städelschule. This annual prize directly benefits the prizewinners and is in recognition of the work presented during the annual student art show. More information on the award donors and winners of the recent years can be found here.
