The Project
The funding period is three years. The aim of this initiative is to preserve and make accessible the largest and decentralized collection of archive material on the history of the Städelschule through digitization and virtual consolidation in order to make it available to students, researchers, artists and the interested public. A feasibility study preceded the project and took place between 2020 and 2023. As part of the study, around 34,700 pages of archival material (e.g. written documents, photographs, prints and paintings) were identified in the Städelschule archive, the Städel Museum and the Institute of City History. Städelschule adheres to the Guidelines for Safeguarding Good Research Practice of the German Research Foundation (DFG). Click here for further information.
