Frankfurt 2018.

In Frankfurt 1968, the capital of revolts, the artist Peter Roehr (1944-1968) opened the head shop Pudding Explosion together with his later gallerist Paul Maenz. For the short duration of its existence, the store got to function as a place for exchanging of alternative objects and information and can retrospectively be seen as an index of the politicization of its time. How could a similar infrastructure of information sharing and production be conceived today? How do artists react to a contemporary society conditioned by mediation with its subjective truths and alternative facts? In what ways do artistic and curatorial practices reflect the capacity and potential of objects to produce identity whilst also having to adress their ambivalent relation to commodity forms, particularly in a virtual and digital environment?
In a former pharmacy, the group exhibition After Facts. Pudding explosion rearticulated with these issues. The eponymous publication continue on the discussions in the form of academic contributions, documentation, and work reviews of performative character.
