Some points persist though; the objects around which we talked fill up like trash receptacles by memory's flavored spillings. Looking more closely to these objects or traditions signals a rather different interpretation to what otherwise should be the setting of a happy occasion. how strange it is to celebrate, as if by one's own will, the day of a random arrival?

Anders Dickson (b. 1988, US) - lives and works between The Netherlands and France. He attended De Ateliers in Amsterdam, Staedelschule in Frankfurt am Main, and the Staatliche Akademie der bildenden Kuenste in Karlsruhe. His work has recently been exhibited by 15 Orient Gallery at Balice Hertling, Paris (2021); Izacaia, Vienna (2020); Stadium, Berlin (2020); Wschód Gallery, Warsaw (2019); Annet Gelink Gallery, Amsterdam (2019); Lovaas Projects, Munich (2019); The Oracle, Berlin (2018); Vleeshal, Middelburg (2018); Gisela Capitain, Cologne (2018); The Beach Office, Berlin (2017), and Tanya Leighton, Berlin (2017). Dickson is a member and co-founder of the Netherlands-based artist initiative Root Canal. He is also a recent recipient of the Buning Brongers Prize (NL), and the Mondriaan Funds Grant for Emerging Talent (NL).
