Das Institut für Kunstkritik wurde von Prof. Isabelle Graw und Prof. Daniel Birnbaum im Sommer 2003 gegründet. Es setzt sich mit der Kunstkritik und ihren disziplinären Bezügen auseinander. Das Institut lädt Kunsthistoriker*innen, Kritiker*innen sowie schreibende Künstler*innen in die Städelschule ein. Es profitiert von den Professor*innen und den in Frankfurt lebenden Kunstkritiker*innen.
