To cope with surrounding complexities, strategies of simplification are often used, such strategies distort complex issues and do not do the challenges of reality justice. Hence artistic disciplines are needed to make our complex reality bearable and to produce subjectively truthful objects, situations and emotions that counteract the general tendency to feel as if our notions of reality are crumbling.

The artworks presented in this exhibition not only utilize speculative fiction and fabulation, but also research that playfully engages in experiments of thought, such thought experiments are able to deliver more precise conclusions about our immediate reality than mere attempts at documentation.

By means of text, performance, video, sculpture, painting und VR-technology the works produce provisional narratives as well as subjective veracity. Together with the belief in the results of empirical science these works constitute a second column of our understanding of reality. The third one is the dream.
