"I make ceramics and tableware to prepare soup in order to invite people to share convivial moments. I will make the famous provençal Soupe au Pistou, that I learnt to cook with my mother according to my great-grandmother's recipe. During the event, I will tell the story behind the soup and the kitchenware I made, which gives people the opportunity to tell their own stories."
-Pierre Boggio

“In April 2022 we wanted to start the project I II I (Один два один)* an exhibition format for artist books that would be hosted in a private apartment in Kyiv (located in Konovaltsia, 44a, apt 121). It’s built around a site specific installation that hosts curated artists books dealing with specific topics. For the first session - due to current circumstances - the topics are forms of resistance, empire, exile, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. We would like to think of the project as a more intimate and durational model that gives time and space to spend time with the publications and appreciate them in a contextualized environment with a radical idea of hosting that involves the resident of the apartment as caretaker of the project. We want to develop a site specific setting for the presentation of the artist books. We consider this project in exile as a nomadic setting hosted by different venues, starting with WIRWIR, each with uniquely their own, until the project can relocate to its original destination. Continuing with the private hosting session there will be intimate moments of drinking tea together (Chaina tseremoniya), collaborative readings, cooking as a form of resistance, performances and artworks that respond to the individual artist books. The books are curated by a variety of artists, researchers, curators and friends with different backgrounds and perspectives as well as random discoveries.”
- Stefan Klein and Andriy Bozhok

*The name of the project derives from the street address and visually symbolizes an abstract form of books placed next to each other
