ABOUT THE BERLIN ART PRIZE

Since 2013, the Berlin Art Prize e.V. has awarded contemporary art in Berlin. The prize invites all Berlin-based artists to apply. The jury – artists Candice Breitz, Anna Ehrenstein, and Amelie von Wulffen, as well as curator Alya Sebti and researcher Sinthujan Varatharajah – chose the eight nominees.

For its seventh edition, the prize collaborates with eight project spaces to offer the artists an opportunity to present their artistic positions in solo exhibitions. With this concept, the non-profit initiative continues to expand its role as a networked platform into a significant collaborative project, calling attention to the places in Berlin where new art emerges.
