Forgotten Facades
(in collaboration with Prashant Chavan)
Questioning the correlation between the past and the present, history and narration, place and space, architecture and aesthetics. Can architecture speak for history?
Forgotten Facades unravels the relationship of exterior and interior of the occupied buildings throughout 69, 70’s 71, 72, 73 Frankfurt student protests. Integrating archival photographs with the present, analyzing the concept of sound in relation to moving images and preserving history by using the technique of photogrammetry - a technique that allows us to perceive the depth of the building in three dimensionality. Forgotten Facades goes through layers and layers of history and questions the politics of aesthetics in relation to architecture and whose voices it used to inhabit and whom it inhabits now.
