Florence Jung will lead a general discussion of her practice, which manifests as ephemeral, immaterial, and often invisible situations. She will reflect on why she avoids creating objects and images, how her works nonetheless circulate, and how she aims to rethink conventional ways of producing and presenting art.
Florence Jung is a French and Swiss artist. Her work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at Fondation Ricard, Paris; Kunsthalle Basel; Gasworks, London; the Contemporary Art Museum of Estonia, Tallin; Kunsthaus Zürich; Oscar Niemeyer Museum, Curitiba; MGK Siegen; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; and Frans Hals Museum, Haarlem. She has also participated in several biennials, such as the Art Encounters Biennale, the Ural Biennial, and the Athens Biennale.
A former resident of the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, Amsterdam, she has received the Swiss Performance Award, the Swiss Art Award, and the Georg and Josi Guggenheim Prize. She is currently presenting a solo exhibition at the Halle für Kunst, Lüneburg and will also be taking part in a group exhibition at Portikus this year.
