Bernhard Schreiner studied film with Peter Kubelka at the Städelschule from 1992 to 1998. From 2004 to 2022, he worked as an assistant in the film class and supervises students in close collaboration with professors Mark Leckey, Bonnie Camplin, Douglas Gordon, Laure Prouvost, Wu Tsang, and Gerard Byrne. As part of his many years of teaching activities in the Film- und Videolab since, he established the film workshop and sound studio at the Städelschule. In addintion to guest lectures at the Adbk Nuremberg and taught at the HfG Offenbach.
Schreiner's work has been exhibited internationally, including at Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin; Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt; Städel Museum, Frankfurt; Kunsthalle Lingen, Overbeck Gesellschaft –Kunstverein Lübeck, Little & Large Editions, Berlin, and KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin. His works are also part of the collection of the Museum MMK für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt.
