Hannah Black is an artist and writer from the UK, now living in New York. She is interested in communism, Marxism, prehistoric art, astrology, psychoanalysis, revolution, and the Black radical tradition. Recent solo exhibitions include Clemens, Jack, Ramey, Raymond, Sam at schwarzescafé, Zurich (2021) and Wheel of Fortune at ETH, Zurich (2021); Ruin/Rien, Arcadia Missa, London (2020); and Dede Eberhard Phantom, Kunstverein Braunschweig (2019). Performances include Penumbra with Juliana Huxtable, Performance Space, New York (2019), and Or Life Or with Soraya Lutangu, MoMA PS1, New York (2017). She has been in several biennials including Manifesta 13, Marseille (2020); Sharjah Biennial 14 (2019); and Busan Biennial (2020). She is the author of several books: Dark Pool Party (Dominica, 2016), Life (with Juliana Huxtable, Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig, 2017) and Tuesday or September or the End, is forthcoming in late 2021. She has written about art and culture in different magazines as Artforum, Bookforum, Art in America, and The New Inquiry, among others.
