Monika Baer is an artist working within painting. Currently she lives and works in Los Angeles und Berlin. Monika Baer studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf from 1985-92. Recent solo exhibitions took place at Kunstmuseum Bonn (2019); Galerie Barbara Weiss, Berlin (2018); Museum Abteiberg, Mönchengladbach and Kestnergesellschaft, Hannover (2016); Greene Naftali, New York (2015), Williams College Museum of Art, Williamstown, MA (2014); The Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL (2013). Since 2010 Baer has been teaching in the MFA program at Bard College, NY and from 2018-20 in the painting department at UCLA, Los Angeles where she was the Regents' Lecturer from 2018-19.
