Douglas Gordon (*1966 in Glasgow/UK) has been professor of film at the Städelschule since 2010 and is one of the most prominent exponents of video art. He works with film, text, photographs and video installations. His best-known work is the film installation 24 Hour Psycho, which stretched out the Hitchcock classic to 24 hours. Gordon has won numerous awards, including the Turner Prize in 1996, the Guggenheim’s Hugo Boss Prize in 1998 and the Roswitha Haftmann Prize in 2008.
