Elisa Caldana (*1986 in Pordenone/IT) studied at the IUAV University in Venice between 2005 and 2008, graduating with a degree in visual art and theatre. From 2010 to 2013 she studied fine art under Professor Simon Starling at the Städelschule.
The decision to select Elisa Caldana was an easy one. For an artist whose conceptual considerations had remained ephemeral until that point, she was to come up with something 'self-contained’. The result of her always fascinating considerations and explorations were dreamily thrown down notes, snippets of words and scraps of sentences.
The work consists of two texts printed on the front and back of a sheet of DIN A4. The front shows a fictitious dialogue, while on the back the situation is described that gave me inspiration for this dialogue.
